Polish one's English

Поляк стоит на паспортном контроле в аэропорту Хитроу. Пограничник просит сформулировать цель визита в Соединенное Королевство. Поляк говорит:

- I just wanna polish my English in this country.

- Actually, you don't need to. Your English is enough Polish in its current state.

Баян, наверное.

Xa, xa, no vidno, cto anekdot. V realnoj zizni vezhlivye anglichane skazali by: Oh, your English is certainly better than my Polish. Strogie skazali by: Oh really? s nisxodjascej intonaciej.

Ясное дело! :)

"V realnoj zizni" Poles (and the rest of Eastern Europeans) are not asked any questions in Heathrow; they are part of the EU and free to visit or stay in the UK just like anyone with a British passport.
As for 'Пограничник', he is just an immigration control clerk, who, in Heathrow, is unlikely to speak English well himself becase he is often Asian, African or even Polish.

he is just an immigration control clerk - слово clerk в современном английском не употребляется
An immigration officer

Анекдот типично английский - построенный на игре слов
